We started this business in 2008. Previous long experience in this market had taught us that putting the customers truly in the middle of what we were doing had to be the way forward. Many of our private customers are so busy organising their lives around the caring regime that we wanted to be as flexible and responsive as possible in order to be of any real help. And many of our ‘community’ fleet customers need someone to give guidance and sort things out for them too.
We also like being independent of any one manufacturer. This means we can give the best impartial advice and be truly unbiased in our recommendations.
We have also learnt that in some situations people just a need a car, sometimes quickly in order to make the most of a point in time. They often don’t know if it’s going to work for them or how long they might need it for.
Hence Fleximobility – whatever you need for as long as you need it.
Linda Ling
Linda is recognised within the industry for her unrivalled knowledge and experience.
She has worked in the accessible vehicle industry since in 1983 and spent many years developing one of the UKs leading WAV manufacturers. More recently she co-founded the Wheelchair Accessible Converters’ Association (WAVCA) and was Chairman for five years. During that time she led a team which successfully lobbied the European Commission to recognise and include WAVs within European legislation.
Linda was also instrumental in the creation of the first official standards for WAVs in the UK (BSI PAS 2012-1:2012 and 2012-2:2012).
Linda enjoys helping people get mobile. It’s as simple as that.
She currently leads the Fleximobility Assessment team – a resource for lawyers and case managers working on Medico-Legal cases for their clients.
“There’s not much Linda doesn’t know about WAVs”
Barry Smith
Barry joined the WAV market with a 25 year grounding in banking, leasing and dealer operations.
He has supplied WAVs to fleet and business users for the last 15 years. During this time he has grown a reputation as a professional who really knows how to look after his clients. Customer service is top of his list and he will always go more than the ‘extra mile’. Barry is also a Director of a small specialist fleet services company.
Fleximobility was Barry’s brain-child. He has known Linda for many years and always wanted to combine their skills to form a company that provides the best Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles and the best deals in the UK.
“You can always rely on Barry to move obstacles to deliver what the customer needs.”
What we believe
We believe in living in the moment, and the restorative value of getting out and about doing all the things you did before needing a wheelchair – visiting family and friends, going for a trip out in the countryside or a visit to a gallery or concert – or even to the local supermarket!
Our customers always tell us that they enjoy life more with a WAV than before, when they were stuck indoors – when travelling felt more like being ‘transferred’.
We regularly hear, “We wish we’d got one years ago!” Our aim is to make it easy for you to enjoy the freedom to live your life to the full today.
Our Promises:
- We will put your Care before your Car.
- Ultimate flexibility – the car you need, when you need it.
- We will listen before we advise.
- The extra mile isn’t far enough. We always go further.
